Some time last year we started working from home and enjoyed the flexibility that we found from being able to do our jobs on our own schedule.

All this was from the comfort of our own home.

At first we were working from our kitchen table, as we believed that our current situation would be temporary. However three months in, our employers announced that our positions would be remote permanently. With that, we wanted a more convenient section to work and to take zoom calls, so we decided to build a detached office. Once the detached office was ready, the only decision we had left was how to heat and cool the office. Increasing the air duct wasn’t cheap and would take time. Plus, we didn’t want to sacrifice the one window in the office for an ugly window unit. So, we went with a ductless mini-split for our Heating and A/C needs. A ductless mini-split runs similarly to a traditional Heating and A/C system. The flow of coolant between the condenser and evaporator can work in reverse when you want to heat the room in the winter, and cool the same space in the summer. Setting up the ductless mini-split was swift, and only called for some few inch holes for all of the necessary components. Thanks to our ductless mini-split, we now have a comfortable site to work, take zoom calls, and even meet with patrons. If you want to build a home office, or to make other kinds of home renovations, ask your Heating and A/C provider if a ductless mini-split is the right unit for you.
