My father called and asked me if I would be interested in doing some marketing for him.
It thrilled me to have my dad ask me to do marketing for his HVAC company.
I packed up my computer and headed to the company. I pulled out my computer and showed dad all the ideas I had for his company. I assured him that with my help and knowledge of marketing, his HVAC company would be double its amount of customers and improve his goodwill. Dad looked shocked when I started showing him my ideas. I chuckled at one point and told him this is what all his money went into. The school he sent me to gave me the ability to do a job that would help him and anyone else who needed a marketing coordinator. Dad and I spent several hours going over all the information I had already compiled. We talked about the different online marketing and how I would create a website that would attract so much attention that he would need to open a second HVAC company to take care of all of his customers. When I was done with my presentation, dad looked ashamed. He said he had asked me here to do the marketing for the company picnic, but this was so much better. He hired me on the spot to do the HVAC marketing for the company, but he also made me go to market for the picnic items. Working with dad ended up being one of the best experiences I had ever had. He gave me full reign with all of his marketing and only asked questions when he didn’t understand what I was talking about.
