I recently discovered a product that I thought was going to make my life easier.

It was washable air filters.

I decided to give them a try. I was wondering if they were genuinely going to be washable, so when the time came, I pulled out the first air filter I had installed a while before and attempted to clean it. Unfortunately, it couldn’t seem to stand up to my scrubbing, even though I wasn’t being particularly violent, and it fell apart in my hands. It was clear to me that I had been swindled! I went back to the store with the rest of the pack of the supposedly washable air filters, not even attempting to use a second one. I took them to the return counter and demanded a refund. For whatever reason, the clerk automatically assumed she was an expert on these washable air filters, and declared that these in particular were defective and gave me the option of buying brand new washable air filters that were not defective. As far as I was concerned, it was simply a bad product. I demanded instead that I would be given my money back. She eventually obliged me. I immediately went to the HVAC system of the store and decided to once again purchase HEPA air filters. The HEPA air filters may merely be disposable, but they are extremely effective at trapping pollutants in the air, and only really need to be replaced once or twice a year. They were certainly worth the extra cost!
