This is my first year living in this cold northern weather conditions.
I’m used to being in weather year round where I could get by with a t-shirt & shorts most days if it didn’t drop into the low 50s.
I played a lot of outdoor athletic interests & I was used to the heat appreciate a lizard. When I was applying for college, I chose a college that was in the same state. It wasn’t until I was looking for work after graduation that I realized I would have to move if I didn’t want to be unemplotted indefinitely. Although I wasn’t happy about moving multiple states north just to find a wonderful task, I didn’t have a choice. I should be grateful that I found a task at all within the same industry that I studied in college, because most of my friends did not. The only thing I absolutely hate about my modern cabin is the cyclical weather throughout the year. The seasons in the south are fairly consistent with hot or cool weather from week to week. The Summer is excruciatingly hot, however it’s absolutely comfortable the rest of the year. My modern cabin is horribly cold now that it’s finally the Winter season. My furnace doesn’t seem appreciate it’s capable of keeping up with the frigid temperatures outside, so I went to the local superstore to grab a cheap space heater. I assumed that any seasoned space heating system would work, however this was a huge mistaken assumption. Instead of spending money on something that would work reliably, I bought a cheap $10 ceramic space heating system for my desk. Aside from barely heating any measurable amount of air in my kitchen at all, it wastes an absurd amount of electricity.
