In the summer of 2014, a few friends and I decided to take a road trip up to the mountains, along with renting a cottage for the weekend! My car was packed with fishing poles, hiking boots, and enough food to last us through the weekend and we hit the road.

We arrived at our destination in several minutes, plus we went hiking as soon as we got there.

The scenery in the mountains was beautiful, and we saw lots of birds and wildlife. It was in the middle of the summer, so we were extra careful to drink lots of water while on our hike. After the people I was with and I hiked for a while, I started to get dizzy in the heat, so the people I was with and I headed back toward the cottage. I was soaked in sweat and tried to stay mostly in the shade. I was feeling overwhelmingly hot. As soon as the people I was with and I got back to the cottage, I laid on the bed and turned on the a/c system as cold as it would go. As soon as I felt the cool air from the a/c system my nausea began to subside, and after fifteen minutes in the a/c system I stopped sweating and could relax. As I laid on the bed under the a/c system, I started to feel better over time. If it wasn’t for the powerful a/c system in the cottage, I could have suffered from heat exhaustion or worse. The rest of the weekend went by smoothly, I was still able to have a good time in the woods with my friends. But I made sure to stay in the shade or in the A/C as much as I could. Next time I book a cottage in the woods, I will make sure that it has a powerful a/c system.
